LITTLE HAMSTER FRIEND IN NEED OF TAMING

I BOUGHT A HAMSTER A FEW WEEKS AGO AND HE IS SLOWLY BUT SURELY
GETTING USED TO ME AND LETTING ME HOLD HIM BUT SOMETIMES GOES TO BITE ME, ANYONE GOT ANY GOOD TAMING TIPS?
OH AND IVE NAMED HIM HOMER!!!

perhaps homer can smell food on your hands and thinks that thats what it is..?

my hamsters (salt and Pepper) will sometimes give me a little nip, not so that it hurts, but it is normally after I have just been giving them some food, or have recently eaten myself, hamsters can't see very well, so they rely on their sense of smell, which is very good!

ty making sure you wash your hands well before you handle him and only hold hium for short periods of time, gradually building it up till he is really happy with you!

You could always handle him using welding gloves...or you could put something bitter on your fingers maybe, like essence of wormwood.
