the $12 is a little steep but that's probably the best looking and properly sized cave i've seen.. its like 9" tall! haha

Yes the cave I suggested is perfect. I have a 10 gallon split, and it fits just right on the one side. My one guy who is fairly big, but not the biggest, he loves hiding in it! Plenty of room...

must have a small betta! :p mine would have to completely clamp their fins to fit through it

Well, I went to look at that particular rock cave last night at PS -- in person its fairly large, it truly is about 8" wide (i had a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper in my pocket to do the rough measurements haha).. but the hole in it seems fairly small. I decided to pass on that one.. am considering the $12 tall cave but for now PVC or a sideways planter pot might have to do :)

I just set up a new ten gallon female community and mine won't have anything to do with their clay pots :/ I'm sad, b/c they look so adorable in there, but noone ever uses them. I'm starting a project tonight of making caves for several of my boys and girls. I've devided I'm gonna use rocks from the creek beside my house and use aquarium sealant to get them together. I'll post pics when I am done.

My idea was terra cotta pots, rolled in silicone and dipped in gravel.

I've got a lot of ideas in my head, but don't know how they will work out. I've just got back from the store, and am starting my projects...... I'll make a topic with pics as soon as I've made some progress!! Wish my luck! this should be interesting.
