i am looking for a very small rock cave for my fish i have 4 small tanks and i want to give each one of them a cave.
like this one
I love the idea of this one but is WAY too big.
do you guys know of anything smaller?

I tried all my local shops to find one too, and came up empty-handed. I finally went with a small rock with 2 holes in it (can post pics tomorrow if you like). The darn thing cost almost as much as the tank.

I've had it in for 2 days now and Bubbles finally swam through it for the first time tonight. And the only reason he did was because I accidentally left the mirror face up underneath the tank instead of face down and as the silly bugger was flaring like crazy at himself in the bottom of the tank he was going back and forth through the holes in the rock

ahh i saw the perfect one at a local pet store and they wanted 25 bucks for it which i refuse to pay, heck i dident pay that much for all 4 of my fishies lol ;)

George's tank, cave, and silk plant came close to $100. He'll always be the special betta because he was the first one I got once I gained a little knowledge (from here) about bettas. Barracuda and Charger's tanks were much more reasonable, but they don't have caves or silk plants yet.

eaqk i cant spend that much i also have 3 horses to talke care of . i was thinking about making some but i dont know what to make them out of. maybe gravel?

Well I know quite a few people have used terra cotta pots, with the bottom holes sealed. I have not done this but maybe somebody could post the "how to".

ah i am making some now with those marbles and super glue they are comming out super cute! i will post picturtes when all 4 are done

Throw a small piece of pvc pipe into the tank until you can find something else. Just clean it with hot water good first. They LOVE pvc pipe.
WalMart also has those little neon caves for about 2 bucks that they LOVE.
You can't miss them - they're fluorescent.

My babies have terracotta pot caves. I get the really small ones from the craft section and drop a dot of aquarium sealant into the hole... then I just sink it into the sand on its side.
I've also used sealant (or just silicone but be careful what kind you get) to stick rocks together to make a cave. I got my rocks from a garden center where they sell them by the pound, and boiled them before making the caves. You also need to let the sealant cure for at least 24 hours or longer.
If I have time later I may be able to post some pics.

do oyu think super ghlue whould be harmful if i clean the cave rocks before i put it in there?

I think using aquarium sealant to be safe would be a much better idea than super glue.

I would strongly suggest aquarium sealant over super glue(you can get it at the LFS or walmart even). You might wait for a second opinion on that though ... I've never actually used super glue in my tanks. I know that surgeons use a type of superglue to close wound buts its not the same as the stuff in the store. The medical grade type has a different kind of alcohol content in it which makes it "less toxic" to people. I'd be concerned about leaching whatever chemical into the water.
The rocks on the other hand should be fine ... just boil them first if they didnt come from the pet store.

lol i went to boil the little cave thinkgs and they all fell apart so i am going out tomarrow to get special glue while i buy more fish lol thanks ;)

I saw a bunch of nice little caves at Wal*Mart for $3. They had a plant attached, too. We got two small caves from PetCo for $5 each.. they have a rock, drift-wood-like base with 3 flowery plants attached, they come in a variety of shapes and flowers. Its called Aquatic Gardens Small Rock Garden, sooo cute and tropical looking ;) but I would not recommend them, due to size, for less than 2.5 gal tanks.
