We just got 2 new male bettas and keep them each in a gallon tank.
One is very active and is constantly on the move, and the other is somewhat listless, not moving around too much, keeping close to his plant, but not crashed on the bottom. I have a bit of experience with bettas and know that fish have different personalities, but I'm wondering if the 3 hour car ride could have stressed him, but then it doesn't make sense that the other one is so active.
Neither of them have much of an appetite and I was wondering if that could be from stress also. If so, how long does it generally take them to adapt?

I believe it depends on the betta, and the health they are in when you buy them. Normally anywhere from 1 day to 1 week. Just a car ride though, I would think a few days should do it.

Even fish have different stress levels, some will cope some will cave in, it will be stress why his quite due to the long jouney, maybe add abit of salt to help him perk up.
