Hey guys.

I was at my Marine only LFS and i was asking a few questions, prices of LR, if its cured or not(it is, thankfully :) ) Then how much salt is, then i came to ask about the substrate, i asked for coral sand or aragonite. They said they had neither but they did have Limestone Sand.

So has anyone had experience with Limestone sand?

Pros? Cons?

Thanks

hmm, I thought that the limestone would dissolve in the water killing all the fish....

I'm not sure though

Maybe they were just 'pulling your leg' :/
Limestone is perfectly fine for your tank, i have used Limestone rocks for my african cichlid tank, buffers the PH nicely. I'm sure sand won't be any different.
Can you give me a source where it says limestone disolves and kills fish?

Thanks Chac,
After i made this thread, i was looking up on LR and it said most of it actually is Limestone. :)

I'll check out this Limestone sand, but they use it in all their tanks and nothing is wrong with them, even their display reef -_-
