Limestone Sand?

Hey guys.

I was at my Marine only LFS and i was asking a few questions, prices of LR, if its cured or not(it is, thankfully ) Then how much salt is, then i came to ask about the substrate, i asked for coral sand or aragonite. They said they had neither but they did have Limestone Sand.

So has anyone had experience with Limestone sand?

Pros? Cons?

hmm, I thought that the limestone would dissolve in the water killing all the fish....

I'm not sure though

Maybe they were just 'pulling your leg'

1 of the ingredients to Homemade Liverock is Limestone & I havve seen & known of many reefers that have made it this way

Limestone is perfectly fine for your tank, i have used Limestone rocks for my african cichlid tank, buffers the PH nicely. I'm sure sand won't be any different.
Can you give me a source where it says limestone disolves and kills fish?

After i made this thread, i was looking up on LR and it said most of it actually is Limestone.

I'll check out this Limestone sand, but they use it in all their tanks and nothing is wrong with them, even their display reef
