Lighting

Can anyone explain how long i will have to have my lighting on in my aquarium when i get my fish,(fish only to start with) i seem to get different answers in different books ,some say that it is a matter of personal taste whether it has to be used.

For FO tanks, it is a matter of taste and how much money you have in your wallet. Obv, the longer they are on, the more money it will cost. The most important thing to do is get the fish in a routine. Buying a timer is a great investment as the light will automatically turn on and off at the same time every day, whether that be for 6 hours, 10 hours, or 12+ hours.

How long should the light be on per day for an SPS coral tank?

Same as any other... 6-10 hours. Your light isn't that powerful so I'd reccomend more like 8-10 though.
