Lighting?

Hi what does everyone think of the underwater lighting that change colour?
thinking of investing but dont want to put anything at risk being new to all this.
only had the tank 9 weeks

Probably a no. Lights can get very hot and it would need a guard at least.

The lights that are available are LED's they are bright & dont send off too much heat, besides I really dont think that would be a problem for the fish.
Red is proberly the best colour & I would use them a "Night Light or Moon Light".

Not keen on them myself, i prefer a more natural look but my kids have the LED coloured lights under water. The fish completely ignore them... My kids love the effect at night when the only lights on, are the under water LED's
