Lighting questions

Night lighting is great, the fish can see so that they dont end up swimming into something that will eat them.
Why would you have two creatures that could eat each other in the tank together in the first place?

I am a rebel, I blame my parents mostly. Then of couse the school system, and a creepy comb-over guy that carried around a plasitc bag muttering to him self. (The a kind of muttering that sounds like its too long to be just one word, but not quite a sentence kind of muttering.) Kind of freaked me out.
Well, there you have it. Thats why I put things togeather that will eat each other.
NO, I mean it keeps fish from swimming into a sea anemone or stinging corals. It also makes it more difficult for a arrow crab to sneek up on small fish or shrimp in the night ... thats right ... Helps me sleep better at night ... knowing my fish wont have to fight ... in the night. :hey:

So you want to right the fight in the night, is that right? Or not quite? :hey:

For such a problem this answer seems slight . . . it's tight
   -_-

the house is around 78 degrees during the day. the heater is set to go to 78 as well, and shuts off at anything higher.

that might be your problem that you keep you tank the same tempeture as your house because you house could get hotter then 78 ... i keep my condo cool and my water around 70 and 73 just an idea i would slowly lower the temperture in you tank so it is a little cool... if you do it slowly over a month your fish and reef wil be fine. this might help :dunno:

P.S. i would just turn the lights off at night :*)
the lights are off at night, and I am afraid to let the tank cool that much.

there were no probs 'til I added the new light....from coralife. It has four times the bulbs as the one light I had before.......

you said you have a heater that maintains the tanks tempeture right you tank won't get any cooler then what the temp. is set at it can only get hotter depending of the day and tempeture in the room :*)
