I just set up a 10 gallon tank with quite a few live plants. Within a week I noticed the plants starting to turn a little brown. I have the proper plant fertilizer, so I know it is the lighting. I have an 20 inch striplight for it. Any suggestions on a new fluorescent bulb that will provide the proper spectrum and high wattage?

I don't keep live plants myself, but I have seen at the pet stores the special light strips for planted tanks. May be what you need. :)

you should probably know what plants you have, so check up on their lighting requirements!

I agree completely with moe. I bought a double strip light for my 15 gallon and found it overwhelmed the plants. Now that I have cut it back to just one bulb they are doing much better. I'm keeping fast growing plants that don't need as much light...

You will certainly get better results with plant oriented bulb rather then a plain flourescent.
