I've had an idea, but not sure it will work. My plan is to mount four strips of LEDs across the tank. Two sets of two parallel to each other on two bars running the width of the tank.

For the lights, these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180799596384?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&autoredirect=off#ht_1183wt_689

Will that look ok, and provide enough light for plants, or am I better than sticking to a day and a nature tube from juwel?

im no expert on the leds mate but in my experience the cheapo leds like that prob wont supply an intense enough light for growing with, the light spectrum may be wrong also as plants require certain parts of the light spectrum (blues & reds) im not denying that these leds may be bright enough to illuminate your tank they just may not be suitable for growing plants
