Lighting for 55 gal tank

Hi I know I've seen a great peice on here about lighting in here but can't find it.
Can anyone tell me the best lighting for a 55 gal 3ft tank. I want to put freshwater tropicals and plenty of live plants in it. It currently has a 30w bluemoon tube in for nighttime marine fish which is about as different as possible form what I;m looking for.
