Hi all.. first post so please be gentle..

I've justr bought a 4ft x 1ft tank, its currently got a crappy hood which I want to replace.. but unsure which to go for...

There is a clearseal hood in pets at home which looks ok, but comes with no lighting..

do i buy this and then use this led lighting?

Welcome to the forum BigRich.
Forget about the be gentle thing, it is simply not my nature. Instead let me suggest that almost any lighting setup that will fit your tank length is going to be fine. You are not trying to grow plants or do anything else where the proper light levels are critical. Instead your real use for lighting is for you to view the fish. For that, any decent lighting system will work fine. Try searching for lighting systems that are the right length for your tank. A light strip that will fit your tank length will work fine for you.
I tend to want to grow plants and even then can often find several suitable alternatives for adequate lighting.
