Lighting 4x2x2

Morning ,

Just planing on getting some lighting for my tank , i have a hood on the aquairum so it must be mountable in there. I was thinking of t5 IBar? What i want is a light for making the aquairum look nice and bright and light for night time so i can see the fish at night.

Any recommenedations?

Don't bother buying tubes from pet stores - they're ridiculously expensive.

I took the advice from the planted section and ordered the following from lampspecs.co.uk:

1x Fluorescent 1149mm 54 Watt Daylight 865 5/8 Inch Diameter T5 Sylvania £3.35
1x Fluorescent 1149mm 54 Watt Skywhite 880 5/8 Inch Diameter T5 Osram £7.50

Works just fine.

I have the Arcadia twin 54w T5 (i-bar is discontinued) (warehouse aquatics are selling at cost according to the trade guide I've been shown). All works great. It's a bit of a squeeze in my 4x2x2 (nd aquatics with wooden hood) but the tubes just lay on top of the sliding glass cover. Gets the glass a bit warm but nothing too bad. I also have the Arcadia 54 reflectors installed.

Ahh seems alot cheaper i have afeling i might of got my t5 bulbs for my other tank from here previously actually. How come you went with the 2 differernt bulbs?

I understand that different tubes emit different light spectrums and this has an effect on the plants and how your eye sees the scene overall. I'm not however an expert. Pretty sure others have recommended these tubes, and if you're still not sure there are experiments to be seen.

Ahh cool , ordered the tubesand the controller

Just need to get some night bulbs etc now
