hi all, the light that came with my new tank, is way too bright for my liking and since putting my new plants in i dont feel its giving them any justice!! The tank dosnt look cosy, as the light gives out a white apperance. Any of u recommend what the best replacment would be, what tubes do u lot out there have in ur tanks?? ive seen one called aqua glo- any good??? i want a nice glo that will make the plants and fish stand out

what size tank do you have and watt of the light..

I have upgraded mine to 2.19 Watts per gal and I can tell you that my tank is bright, very bright, but I hope the plants enjoy it

I have seen many lights that enhance the coulor of the fish that doesnt "shine" so bright, but it doesnt allow the plant to grow that much..

Poor light is a much bigger problem then bright light.

I'd gladly swap you my poor light problem for you too bright problem.
Are you hoping to put real plants in you tank?
Seriously!

I'm so mad i got a 20 tall now that I see it's hard to find lighting over 15W for it. Poor light is ok if you're interested in java ferns or other low light plants. And leaving low light on longer does not produce the same results as better lighting. The light will also dim a little bit over time.

hi all, yes im using real plants, just that the light that came with the tank is what i call a white light, any how, i treated my self this morning to a aqua-glo tube, which is recommended for making ur plants and fish stand out!! so will put it to the test tonight when i get home from work!! god roll on 7 o'clock!!!!!
