I ordered a light for my nano on ebay and it arrived yesterday. The fella who sent it to me had wrapped it properly and labelled it as fragile. (I'm not blaming him, he gave me a good deal) However, somehow in transit it has been dropped or bumped and something inside the bulb has broken (I can hear a filament or something sliding around inside). :-( There's nothing wrong with the light itself, because I the fans fire up when I turn it on but I'm going to need a replacement bulb. :/ My problem is that I can't find a distributor in Australia. The light is a Coralife aqualight 20" and takes a 96 watt 50/50 square pin quad bulb (the bulbs are 17"). The company is from the US and I was wondering if anyone knows of a distributor that ships internationally? TIA

while this question has been answered already 5 threads down (currently) I will give the link again.

www.Drsfostersmith.com click on the fish, then the compact florescent, and low and behold is everything you may need.

Does liveaquaria ship to the UK? Just curious. If not, there are some UK distributors out there that sell square pin PC's

Apart from the fact they don't ship to Australia (unless you pay ridiculous charges which then makes it cheaper to buy a whole new unit)
Maybe look at where the person lives before getting cocky :p

Lol, I read North Queensland and didnt bother to read the australia part, just thought that sounded like a UK name :D

I would try ebay, see if any sellers are local or willing to ship overseas. Also I have heard of an austrailian reef forum, but since I'm US I have no idea what it is. You may be able to find them through that site.

I've posted on the Australian reef forum, but no luck yet. None of the ebay sellers with them ship to Australia. I've found a company that's getting them in in 2 weeks and another that stocks something similar. Both ship to Australia so its all good. :D It'll just be a pain getting them every 12-18mths when they need replacing.
BTW Nth Queensland in the UK

International shipping isnt that much more depening on where you are and what shipping company is used. I know the fedex and ups both ship internationally for a very reasonable rate. Esp since the item in question is as light as a bulb (pardon the pun). Call fosters for a quote. It seems my choice is being criticized without even knowladge of what they acctually charge?
