I have been looking for 2 light timers one for my coldwater tank and one for my tropical tank but cant find one anywhere in Jersey. I am yet to get to B & Q so they might have them.

just incase they dont where can i buy them from online (UK)?

also how do they work do you insert times when you want the lights to switch on and off?

cheers

Hi Debiasir

A fellow Channel Islander at last!!! (I thought I was the only one!)

Well, B&Q would be a good bet - I got one but unfortunately it doesn't work (and it was over the 1 month refund policy) :grr:

There are two kinds I'd suggest:-

1) Manual segment timer from Maplin.co.uk

2) 7 Day Digital Timer from Maplin.co.uk

I would suggest number 2 if the features are what you're after - otherwise for basic function you can't go wrong with 1.

Hope that helps!

Cheers
Pete

ah another channel islander. do you know of any other islanders on the forums

I will try b & q then and use the links above as a last resort.

I don't know of any others I'm afraid!

I'd be careful with B&Q, cheap and cheerful sometimes.

The digital ones usually require a battery to store your settings if unplugged/powercut - just so you're aware of the added expense (£2-3 but it usually comes with one).
