I have a basic light that came with a 55 gallon tank kit from PetsMart, teh lighting is pretty bad, so I am in teh market for new lights. I found a supposed 60 watt light at Wal Mart that is the same size as the old light. My dad thinks that the light would melt the light holder I guess you'd call it, but I am not sure if that would happen. There are vents in the top of the light holder btw.
If it would melt, what are good lights then to grow plants? The tank only gets 30 watts. Does anyone know any online places that sell 18 inch lights with more watts then 15, but not a lot like 60.
