Light on or off?

Hi,

I have 2 danios in my tank and 3 live plants. Obviously the fish take priority over the plants though!

I'm going away for a week, my mum's coming around every other day to feed the fish for me

So should I leave the light on all the time for a week, off for a week, or on for 2 days, off for 2 days?

I'm thinking that off all the time might be best but just wondered if this would upset the fish. The curtains in the room will be open so it'll still be fairly light for them.

I would leave the lights off and just let the ambient light give plants and fish some lighting

the plants might suffer a bit from it though, depending on what kind they are
