Oh, mine was plexiglass. Is that same or different?

They are almost the same.. the difference is in the process of manufacturing.

Plexiglass is a trademark and a type of acrylic

Plexi is manufactured through a cell cast process whereas Acrylic is manufactured through extrusion or cell cast.

Plexi will be a bit more expensive.

It still completely blows my mind you Americans have to buy your tank and lid separately what a joke! Absolute nonsense don't get me started...

Lol for what it’s worth I am Canadian

I put a custom lid on my tank because I have a Fluval flex for my small tank and I upgraded the light that cane with it. I couldn’t use the original lid with the light I purchased.
