Anyone ever tried to keep any of these? Are they easy to keep? Are they aggressive? Are they like dwarf Gouramis, do they do fine on their own? And can you mix a male licorice gourami with a male dwarf gourami?

From what I have read they normally only except small live foods. The max out a 1.5" and are sensitive. Imo not a community fish, they like really low ph. Breed in caves. I have always wanted to to a 10gal species tank with these guys .

i have 3 of these. They are a very shy fish and best kept in a species tank shaded with lots of floating plants and a cave. SOft acidic water with bodwoos is nice too.

Def. not a community fish. Unless you go for a Gourami community with these, chocolate gourami and sparkling gourami. You'd get away with some other small none-boisterous fish too like clown killis

the pygmy (sparkling) gouramis I had temporarily with my licorice gouramis were too active and intimidated them into a lot more hiding.

When I moved them into another tank the licorice came out a lot more.... they are big scardey cats... but I really like them!
