LFS still in the dark

Went to LFS today, I was talking to one of the guys mention that I used fishless cycle. He looked at me as I were speaking german!

Had to actually tell him (in detail) what is was!

That's not good...to bad lots of fish stores are like that now...it's a shame really.

It is still a relatively new idea. For several years it's been passed around the internet, and recently i've seen an article in a fish magazine, so pretty soon the idea ought to gain wider exposure.

I learned about it on the 'Net, too, just yesterday when I joined here. I tell ya, if I'd known about it when I got my tank set up first, I definitely would have fishless cycled it instead of forcing my fish to go through the cycle. As it was, I lost 3 platys and 1 swordtail to an ick infestation caused by poor water quality. Too bad I hadn't heard about it before.
