Let's talk ornaments

Just make sure you wash your hands in water that's as hot as you can stand before putting it in your tank to handle the fish.

Bettas love interacting with their owners and are easy to train using food rewards.

Anyway, Bettas do not need fancy decorations thats eye candy for humans, Bettas need lots of plants including floating ones to be happy and maybe a floating log.

One last photo.
This is a natural way for a betta to sleep. Thats a bed of Riccia with an Indian almond leaf on top. I had to sneak up on him one night and use a flash.

Well that’s good to know I am adding more plants he sleeps in his floating log from what I can tell and no hammocks even though it’s an almond leaf right ?

Bettas prefer top cover, a floating plant above the hammock is the way to go.

The top of my tanks usually look like this.

This is the bubble nest you see in the photo above.

Now you see why I dislike ornaments?

Thanks, be patient and once your plants grow in.

Now back to ornaments, For those of you that hate the look of internal filters especially sponge filters here's a great video by Pondguru.

Members please note.
If you are going to make an ornament filter like that the ceramic media is optional so the ornament can be smaller, the 3 sponge's are more than enough for a planted Betta tank.

That’s the thing I like about my tank everything is hidden in the back
