To quote a mobster from a cult classic movie: “I’m having a s*^#%y day, tell me a joke...”

What I’m looking for here is positive vibes.

Some or most of us might have to dig deep, but let’s share a happy moment, or positive experience that happened this year.

We all know this hasn’t been a great year and many people have had various levels of difficulty and anxieties.

So let’s not limit this to fish keeping, let’s just share some feel good stories. Let’s not argue, let’s not get our backs up against a wall, let’s just share good thoughts, happy memories and positive vibes.

And go....

really appreciate you starting this thread, I've had a crappy day today but this is a great reminder that not everything is suck! ok here I go:
- because covid forced both my husband and I to work remote, and because daycare closed, we moved in with my mother in law about 6 states away and spent probably one of the most wonderful summers in recent memory. It was so so nice to just be as a family, and my son became super close with grandma, which would not have happened due to the distance had we not had that opportunity. All of us (ok maybe not my 20-month old at the time) helped at dinnertime, and at the end of each day as we sat around the table, we all just joked about how crazy everything in the world is but how much of a silver lining it is to be able to be together as a family.

- I started an indoor garden for the first time this fall about a week ago, and I HAVE GERMINATION!!! The radishes are an inch long already(!!!), the turnips are up, the beets are up, many of the lettuces are showing themselves, and I am patiently waiting for the dwarf tomatoes, peppers and cucumber to show up. Plus, it turns out that the modern LED growlights also effectively function as "happy lights", so it's like going and having my daily dose of sunshine when I water them in the evenings :)

- we picked out new kitchen appliances (almost, still deciding between two models on the dishwasher and fridge) at the end of last week. Our electric stove from the 70's will finally be replaced by a GAS stove woot woot

- kids!! fish!! 'nuf said about those two. they're work, but ya can't not love 'em :)

Yes! Fantastic!

Taking less than ideal situations and turning them in your favour, that’s the dream.

I know not everyone can have a great feel good moment, but maybe if you look hard enough, you can find a silver lining. If it’s not silver, maybe it’s a just a shiny metal, but a shiny metal will still reflect some light in a dark time...

This is a great thread idea!

I can't really think of any good things that have happened for me this year although I got to talk to a few friends so that was pretty good :)

Try to dig a little deeper, and if you still can’t find anything, then just follow other people’s good stories. Let’s lift some spirits, whatever you believe in knows we can all use it now.

At least the plane tickets are cheap.

I know it is driving many parents crazy, but I love hearing the kids on our street scream and play during the day because they are not in school. Can't wait to have snow and see them sledding with their little masks on! :#

Well for a lot of people they may think this is a weird thing to share but for me it’s positive.

I spent just over 2 years in custody and got out in March this year. Whilst there I got clean, did a 2nd BSc (this one in Maths). Taught about 100 people to read and write and now I feel a lot more positive about the future.

Life is what you make of it and even when your at the bottom of the barrel you can still look up and see the blue sky.
