~ Hey ~ Here is my tank and the 3 fish in it:

1 fantail goldie (Lucky)
1 oranda (Tangerine)
1 baby lionhead (Glimmer)

The tank is so cool! If you have any idea on how i could improve it let me know!

I would add a dark background so your fish stand out more.
They are great looking goldfish though. :D

That is all i had at the moment but i am planning on getting one with all plants in the backround ! The ones from like the pet store or something!

Thanks!

Here is my tank.

Do you mind giving us some more info?

Like names, what size tank, and maybe even a whole tank shot and what type of goldfish they are.

THanks!
:good:

Sorry its a 40gal, and only one goldfish now, as sadly orange pip died, the first fish which is a ranchu is called tweety pie, he's my little darling.

You allready saw my boys and thier tank in the other thread ;) They are both two/two and a half year old common goldfish (feeders) named Tangaloor Firefins and Girzraz. They share a 75g tank (cycled, but not planted).
Your tank is awesome! What happy looking little goldfish! I definately agree with getting a background; it'll look ace. And, if you wanted, you could add a few tall plants so that some of the "empty space" near the top has hiding spaces.

Ok, so these are my boys! In my opinion the big yellow fella is most likely the most expensive fish in the world. This is the fish that started it all and caused me to catch the dreaded “multiple tank syndrome” and make my wallet and bank balance increasingly deflated.

Originally I was given this fish in a bowl for a valentine’s gift and he has been re-homed twice since then. I had him and the two moores in a 96lt community tank with two aggressive paradise fish, a hill stream loach and about 10 WCMM’s. Needles to say and (due to my inexperience) all three got bullied by the paradise fish. To my horror one of the moores became completely blinded so I though these fellas deserved a tank to themselves.

So this it is, let me know what you think.

The tank:
20gallons or 70l (I know its 20g for the first fish then 10g there after for fish, but its better than a bowl)
600 lph Internal filter
Juwel 18w bulb
Water changes 40% every week

I think goldfish are great and are not given the attention they deserve.

In note: The blind moores is doing fantastic and has been since the accident

Hi liz, nice looking fish in the pics. Can I make one suggestion to you. The air pump powered filter that you are using. The plastic rim at the base should be directly on the glass and the rest should be covered in gravel just below where the carbon refill in put. This wil increase the amount of filter media (biological filter) that the water has to pass through (gravel) and it will help reduce the amount of ammonia in the tank. If your ammonia is already at zero then it will just speed up the process. Also it will pull the fish waste down into the gravel and make your water cleaner.

Looks great though.

tanks.

The goldfish need at least 10 gallons of water each except for the commets or commons becuse they need 20 gallons of water to survive! So i am thinking about getting some facts from another website that i use and starting a basic goldfish care section right here! I have to ask the admin first though! Let me know if you think that would be cool!

Thanks!

I would say 20g min for one fancy (as also suggested on this very site) with 10g for each addition; most get to be a good 8-12in long at maturity, and are just as much poop factories as commons. I can't imagine a big fat 10in oranda in a 10g tank, anyways. Commons should probably be kept in a pond; where are you going to find a tank big enough and a filter strong enough for several 2 foot fish? I have a 75g with two 7in goldies, and even at that size, they can stress out the biological filtration with too much ammonia if they are not cleaned and gravel vacuumed religiously. I have a funny feeling I should start looking at ponds as they get larger.
Somewhere, I have a very good goldfish caresheet that I wrote up for a pet expo based on information from this site, GoldfishInfo.com, and a few other sites (as well as personal experience). If you want to take a gander at it as a starting point, PM me and I can link you to it.
