Well I let loose my 2 week old fry in my main tank after a 3 month gap of not having any luckily for me and when I found all 7 of them they was quite large and in the space of the last 2 weeks I've had 2 more but have only found 10 ( 2nd batch 1week old 3rd batch 4 days old ) and the oldest fry I have since last drop is 3 months old and they are already half the size of it

And none of my adult fish paid any attention to them whatsoever

Here's 3 out of 7 of my 2 week old fry against my 7 month old wild guppie and they almost the same size !!!!

Once you have lots of different sized fry in a tank, the adults will almost always ignore them completely. It is like the older fry teach the adults that there is no point to chasing them and the smallest of the fry benefit from that training.
