i been researching and i know most rams are in this category as are Apistogrammas are there anymore that would go in with

dwarf gouramis , honey gouramis , harlequin rasboras and corys - going in the 180 ltr rio

Thanks Sarah x

WATER STATS forgot these

ph 7-7.2 (we have soft water in devon)
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 0 - (10 -20 from tap then drop to 0 within 2 days of water change)

thanks ludwig , they are beautiful - just googled them

Keyholes are meant to be placid.

Orange chromides should ideally be kept in brackish water, so something to think about.

i like the rainbow cichlids.
firemouths are also good but they have such a big personality you can't tell if they'll act up or not.

I've just reserved 3 Apisto Cacatuides - I've heard nothing but good reports about them & every time I've been to the LFS to lok at my 3 the male has come & stared at me like he's daring me to go for one of 'his' females  that's charcter enough for me  will let you know how they get on after I've picked them up tomorrow if you want?

dont think a firemouth would be very good in a community tank with my other fish

Picked my 3 cockatoo up today  they're amazing - no fear at all, just went for a wander round the tank straight away - the male already seems to have found 'his' territory  I've spent more time watching them than doing anything else today  I'd highly recommend these for you :D

I keep foremouths now and have in the past and have never found aggression to be a problem, they flare at each other but don;t show aggression to others but thats just my experience and they are gorgeous!

your ideal candidate would be keyholes I think the most placid cichlid I have seen and although drab I think they are quite pretty

I have 1 male Apisto Cacatuides (Cockatoo cichlid) and 3 females in with a male and female German Blue Ram in a community tank with no problems.
