Leo's 20g Tank Journal

I really like the effect that you've achieved, well done! It must've been a lot of hard work!

It did take a while to put together! The branches in there were left to soak for around 3 weeks after I collected them from a local woods. They weren't boiled as they were too large however I put them in the oven for a few hours. During the soaking time I did the planning and got hold of as many plants I needed for the tank as possible.

Coming along nicely :)

Sam

Cheers :)

The Riccia has certainly improved the foreground, but I think
more is needed at the front.

Overall, Great Tank. :good:

Very very very nice man !

Congratulations !

hope i can get my new tank to look that good ! :D

Richie

Sorry for the lack of updates, my camera (Sony Ericsson K800) has been in for repair for while now so I haven't been able to take any photos. I have taken one on my older phone just to show you how the growth has come along. I added a large bunch of Rotala sp "Nanjenshan" at the back of the tank a few weeks ago, which is growing very quickly.

Yes, the amount of planting makes as huge difference. Much more complete now. Are you going to have any corydoras? Your bottom layers look like they'd appreciate some fish.

Cheers, the Rotala does make a big difference. Not going to add any more fish however there are two Amano shrimp and two Otto's in there which sometimes use the bottom of the tank.

I'd add at least another two Otos in there - they do like their own company.

Lots of new photos after a trim of the rotala at the back of the tank. Had been decorating and generally busy so the tank didn't have a water change or any CO2 for 3 weeks and apart from the massively overgrown rotala the tank was fine with no algae!
