Leopard & Zebra Danio

Just a wee quick question

I originally had 5 leo danio's 3 female 2 male all the females slowly disapeared one by one
Went to lfs this morning and they only had zeb danio's so i got 2 just to see how the males will be

They are HUMUNGOUS !lol there belly's are really swollen already Does this mean they're Ready to spawn?

Also what would the outcome be with the leo's and the zeb's if fry survived would i have some funky looking fish ! lol

If they do spawn you will have to remove the eggs as Danios are notorious for consuming their own offspring.

i have a community tank and don't have a spare tank to keep them in so i use the survival of the fittest rule

just wondering what would happen if they did breed and any survived

Would they be deformed or would they be a mix of both zeb's and leo's

Leopard danios are a variety of the Zebra danio (Danio rerio) so they can cross breed, however I have no idea what the fry will look like, we'll just have to wait and see.

ooo waiting game !! The joys lol !!

They're all going nuts about the tank just now males are doing a funny wee dance for them quite cool to watch

I used to think that those males were big compared to what they were when i got them but these females are huge ! Around 1"1/2 long and really swollen bellies will try n get some pics if i can get them to stay still long enough lol
