Leopard Frog Pleco

Still planning my 240 ltr tank (for this autumn). Probably I'll end up with a couple of bristlenoses for the bottom, but there are days when I feel more ambitious and go scanning the Trimar stocking list for something a little more challenging.

The one that really takes my fancy is the Leopard frog plec (L134). Have done some googling, stays nice and small, nothing outlandish in the way of feeding requirements, but I am a little put off by hearing that a lot of them die in shipping or acclimatising.

Has anyone got experience of this fish? Is it something you could/should attempt in a quiet community tank, with a medium level of experience, without RO water? Does it get along with other tank mates? Could it even share a 62 gal tank with a bristlenose (possibly even a pair?) or would you get aggression issues?

I have a L134, my only plec. He was very quiet when I first got him and I didn't see him unless it was pitch black.

Now he's always out and about. I think once they get settled they are grand. I can always see mine, day or night. He likes to sit on the red tiger lilly, well attempt to!!

I'd go for it when your tank is mature. I am think of getting Brucilla a friend, not seen them since I got mine from Trimar a couple of years ago.

They're stunning looking fish!!

Go for it mate, you won't regret it.

Trimar have got them listed on their web-site at the moment, but I prfer to collect from an LFS rather than have then shipped by Royal Mail !!! You know what they're like at delaying parcels etc !!!

I'm not buying it yet; I need to get the new tank set up first, so I can start playing musical tanks. But it's nice to have something to plan for.

I've got 2 134's a male and a female to breed (Buffy and Spike ).... I also have 2 that are currently on hold for sale to someone (that has yet to pay for them )

They are getting rarer, the guy I'm holding these 2 for has been looking for ages and is travelling nearly 200 miles to collect (along with 5 other specialty plecs)

I know Andy has been looking for a reasonable price for a group and has meen tooing and throwing about them - and their price has gone up while he's been messing about

If anyone is still looking - let me know as i have a feeling that the sale may go sour as he keeps putting off paying the deposit....

Hey!! I am good and Brucilla is great. Gorgeous little guy. Totally different to when I first got him, he's an IT boy.

I don't know how much Trimar are selling them for and alas, I am a bit far from you so I may have to put Brucie's friends on hold. He's happy enough as he is but I am sure he'd like someone to land on things badly with...
