I have a couple of leopard catfish that I purchased back when I first added fish to my tank (40 gallons). They were quite small when I first added them (maybe 0.5 inches), now they're getting huge, over 4 inches long. How large will these fish grow, and will they out-grow my 40-gallon tank? Other than that, they're great fish, very easy going, and keep the bottom of the tank clean.

Latin name? There are dozens of fish that have the common name "Leopard catfish". This is why it is always, with no exception, best to research fish before purchasing them. ;)

I'll eventually snap some pictures of them and post here -- a description won't do any good as I'm sure there are plenty of catfish species matching the description. As for the "Latin" name, I have no clue (and I even took 4 years of Latin in college!).

is it a Jaguar catfish? does it hide a lot or does it have a sucker mouth?

Ok, not the best picture, but here's the "leopard catfish" I've been referring to in this thread.

It should work in a few hours (works from my end here), must be a DNS propagation issue. It does have a sucker mouth, you'll be able to see this from the photo I posted (once it shows up).

look up Jaguar Catfish. Liosamodoras oncinus or something like that. I think the yhave them at Liveaquaria for you to look at. It may be a Syno too.
