I was just curious as to what the importance of the LED Moon light on the reef tank. I bought a top of the line lighting system that had the best moon lights you could get.... I don't even use them. Should I be??? What do they do for my tank and its inhabitants? :dunno:

"moon light" like the reefs when the sun goes in they still have the moons light so its not 100% pitch black! , but maybe when you turn the lights stright off its not ment to be good for the fish /corals! so u turn the moon lights on then the main ones off!

thats how i tock it anyway! maybe im wroung?

i understood it as the things living in your tank dont see red light. So you can see and they dont get disturbed/stressed by being lit up all night or at different times. But then again i dont know all that much yet :)

it can help with breeding fish and corals (sexual and asexual), but most of the time its just so you can see into the tank. The wild is rarely pitch black so a bit of blue and white moonlight is fine.

also depending on where your tank is in your home, i think moon lights look amazing! very nice piece to any home
