Hello,
I have a fish tank that is leaking slowly, not a lot of water is being lost but the silicone was damaged from the bottom and it’s dripping. I have posted previously about this and it took me a little longer than expected to find a new tank as I was also looking to upgrade to a bigger more spacious tank for my fish. I’m going from a 25l to a 60l tank, I would like to rehome my fish as soon as possible, rather than wait weeks for the new bacteria to build up in the new tank. As the new tank has no filter, I’m not sure how I would go about using my old one.. I’m adding my old decorations and gravel (with additional new gravel since it must cover more area) but I’m not sure how I would make the change without my fish facing danger

If you move the old filter to the new tank, all the bacteria in the old filter should make cycling the new tank much faster.
I would set up the new tank while taking down the old, keeping the filter media wet. When the new tank is set up, filled, and up temp then you can move the filter over and the fish. You might go through a mini cycled but nothing a few extra water changes won't fix. If you can add live plants the water will be a bit more stable as plants soak up ammonia.

Are you using the old substrate, filter, plants and decorations? If yes then you will be fine

Thank you! I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing for my little sweethearts
