Leaking Dennerle Regulator

I have just set up a Dennerle pressurised system that i got from my uncle when I turn the knob on the top of the bottle there is a obvious leak coming from between the reg and the bottle.

I think there must have to be a washer between these to parts, as when I attach the reg to the bottle it just screws all the way along its threads and doesn’t actually tighten. I asked my uncle if there was a washer but he said he couldn’t remember as it was over a year since last used it.

Could someone who has a dennerle system shed so light on what could be the problem?

Hi there,

Yup, the Dennerle regs use a rubber washer between the bottle and the mounting face. They're about £1.50 for a pair. I get mine from either Hobbyfish.net (they're near you) or New Leaf at Harrogate.

DON'T tighten it right up or you will damage the rim on the reg where the washer sits.

Do i need to use both or do you get a extra one?

Just use one at a time. They get a bit crushed. I tend to replace them either every bottle change or occasionally I use 'em again if they look good.
