I've been lurking and reading here for quite a while, but I only just registered to say that your tank is amazing. The leaf litter is genius. I remember reading where you first suggested this to a girl who wanted an Amazon stream tank(I believe that's right) and have been hoping she or you would do it and post pictures. I usually stay out of these topics since I'm not really a member, but more of an interested lurker, I just had to say.... Great tank!

wow Im blown away! :D :D :D thanks doormatt Im glad you like it, its not a new idea, I stumbled on it while looking for advice on keeping crabs. Yeah I did mention it awhile back in a thread on amazon biotopes, while my leaves were drying out. Ive been dying to see how it would turn out because the gravel was too uniform and unnatural, the corys were afraid to search for food in the centre of the tank. Now they're right at home!

I was a lurker too for a good while and am a regular lurker at a lot of places to pick up stuff like this.
Great to hear from ya and now your a member, maybe we can see some pics of whats going on in your tank!

Some people have been on to me about the lights I use in this tank, to save you the hassle of PM'ing or mailing, the tubes are an Arcadia Marine Blue Actinic 25W 30", more details HERE and a standard Gro-lux in the rear position, find these HERE. If you want any more info, PM me and I'll be happy to oblige if I can.
Other praise, political donations and endlessly fascinating spam to the usual address!! :fun: :p
