Hes about 2 1/2 inches long. He now has excavated under all the live rock, making me stick my hand in the tank as soon as i got up just to dust of the corals. :shout:
 
I just hope my angel dosent get get to bave and makes him use his claw... Its as loud as a 22 caliber pistol going off!

I'm guessing that's why they're called "Pistol Shrimp". Its a close relative of the Gatling Shrimp, whose claws make the sound of a real life gatling gun. Hope your neighbors don't mind it.
 
Yup. I just fed him shrimp. Soon, he will be partnered with anorange stripe prawn goby.

Technically, that would only apply if the shrimp was fed his own species. If the shrimp ate a shrimp from a different genus, it would not be "eating his own kind" more like eating a distant, evolutionary relative. My amanos eat brine shrimp all the time.

Just realized i got a piece of Horn coral for like 50$ less than its worth. I just hand fed mypistol shrimp.
