okey dokey, this is my story, ive always wanted a marine tank, but my wife wont let me have one cos of the expense. So looking at the GSP and that they eventually go full marine i think this might be a nice, cash friendly road to travel down, so here is what i propose to do, Buy 2 gsp's., along with other similar species that eventually turn to full marine, then a while later ill have the tank ive always wanted, ill purchase rocks as and when i have some cash, then get my nemo fishes :p

please tell me if this can be done. I know GSP's can be aggressive, but im stocking a 75g, so space should not be a problem.

If GSP's are not an option cos of what i eventually want, then please tell me what brakish fish of a similar nature i can purchase, im looking for lots of colourful ones

Many Thanks.

I think getting a GSP will limit what kind of marine fish you will eventually be able to keep as they are aggressive fish. You could consider getting some scats which are herbivors and good community fish and eventually go full marine, however they can grow very large to 8" in an aquarium.

You can get silver scats which only grow to 5" though.

And you got to remember that marine setups allow for less fish...

Are you just wanting a fish only tank, fish-live rock tank, or a full blown reef. Fish only can be done with little expence, add a skimmer and some live rock for a few hundred more when you have the money. Work into it slowly. From there up grade your lighting and then your ready for corals. Come visit us in the marine section and we will talk about it.
