Laser Lights

The lasers probably won't do anything. If they are real lasers, they will make a narrow beam of light, which won't bother your fish much; after all, the odds that they'll ever get the laser beam right in the eye are so slim that it won't happen more than 1 or 2 times a week, unless you have lots of them.

If they're LEDs, which they probably are, they make pretty colored light. Nothing else.

I've been wanting to get those, but I'm waiting for a larger tank. I loved the cave and Pirate ships that can attach to it. Now, Zamzows I think is where I got a crystal ornament that is fiber optic, and you just plug into wall outlet. They also have fiber optic caves, Titanic, and the lighthouse, ooh and a pretty "Clam". I want to get all of them! To bad each cost about $50. But they are nice, the crystal was fairly cheep, like $10-$15, and it's a great nitelight and can really make the tank and fish "glow". We originally got it for my turtle, since we had to turn the lights out at night, I wasn't certain if he could see in the dark so well, and he wouldn't get on his dock... he rather swim all night. So we got that as a nightlight for him. They are pretty, v ery pretty. I liked the Titanic one, its on an iceberg and 'split' in two. lol.

From what I've seen... they are LED. Glad someone asked the question though cause I never thought about it. hmm.

You say they are cheap??? They aint from where i got them, 34 quid (England by the way) just for a modulator and one laser light, 8 quid for my multi-colour light and 24 quid for the light house i used to have, which need the modulator, which you couldnt buy seperately!

Oh well, i am quite happy with my light at the moment, makes a really good affect in my tank and the fish seem to like it...

:)

just checked out the link, i see petco has um too..these things look pretty cool, i was thinking they maybe nice for a *moonlite* effect. my 55 gal is in my den and thats where my PC is so when i get up in the middle of the nite and wanna surf online its so dark in there cuz i dont wan turn on any lites as my fish go to bed at my simulated *dusk* on timers at about 10 pm..lol maybe these wil give a lil lite in the tank and i can see the fish when the hood lites are off? wunder if it promotes bredding for live beareers i read somewhere where moon lites help the fish breed.. :dunno: :hey: :flex:

Oh yeah you can do that mate, but you need a odd few of them, but it creates a brilliant effect, i turn mine on at night and when everything is off, it is well beautiful, if i can get a pic of it i will post it up in stages, because mine changes colour and so far it has helped, i couldnt believe it, but what it says actually is working, my fish seem to be healthy and well, their fins are certainly bigger, which makes them even more prettier to look at

;)

It looks well kool when the light is reflecting off air bubble from a air pump, it give it that tranquil effect even at night...

;)
