Large Bala Found Dead :(

Very interesting reading in them links charlie,a great deal of knowledge,would be good if it could be made a sticky in someway so others would know more about bala's etc

As T_L_M mentions, I do too go with what Seriously Fish suggestions and advice as these tend to be fairly accurate as far as I know. There are a couple of other site I tend to go by as well and their information is similar really, nothing has really been said about fry and tank shapes. 
 

 
You should never really stick to one site when researching fish (this is just a general statement, not picking on Ch4rlie), even decent sites like Seriously Fish do contain errors, eg the max size for laeacara thayeri is wrong, as it the max tank size for Vieja argentea pair.

Agreed, i did mention i do go by a couple of other sites I tend to go by but a good point to bring up, no one website is infallible in their advice.
 
SO, in short, do not rely on just one site, do look around and there will undoubtedly be conflicting advice so need to sort the reliable form the bad (easier said than done) and most of all, do LOTS of research, and ask advice and opinions etc.

Yeah your bang on there,one site will tell you one thing and another tell you something different,if there just one site that had all input and advice,knowledge of the bala or any fish in that fact,it would a lot easier in understanding your fish and not be mislead by reading something thats of  the scale.

I think it would be good if the information on bala sharks could be varified and added to the species index on here.

I will get get the index information for the paper for you guys. I don't know if the e-mail correspondence will be of use, but he has a load of information he included. I completely agree and understand with not using one source.

That be great Kev,good man too many sites tell you to much different stuff it reall buts your head reading 1 thing and you think ahhhh yes its that ,then another site tell you something completely different.....nightmare
