I am looking to get an L260 and after browsing a few sites on the net I've found one that has some. The seller emailed to confirm that the price of his L260's are £34.95.
I'd like to ask if this is a reasonable price and would the Queen be ok with a clown plec that I already have in my 360ltr?

is it fully grown its quite expensive at £35 but there quite hard to get hold of at the moment i wouldnt pay more than £30 for 1 even an adult.

it will be fine in with the clown plec aslong as theres not too much of a size difference and theres plenty of caves.

Thanks jacko,
I don't think it's fully grown to be honest.

I know they're difficult to get hold of, I've spent ages looking for one but I also thought £35 was a bit steep even if they are a bit thin on the ground.
Oh well, looks like I'm gonna be looking for a while

Thanks again :)

£35 is expensive, I would say £25 is much more reasonable. :)

Size is going to be the defining factor with price, juvenile 260's go for around £15-£25 but that will be 1.5 inch, adults on the other hand will be a completely different story. Female fully adult will probably cost anything from £40-£60 nowadays becasue they have become so popular and hard to get (as adults), males will be roughly the same price as adult aswell.

Price is and will always be what the buyer is willing to pay, i would quite happily pay £70 for adults females and £50 for adult males, others will pay more, some wont even pay close to this.

Price wise on the fish you are looking at should be calculated on what size it is and basically what you are actually willing to pay, price is irrelevant if the fish is already priced at more than your willing to pay.

Thanks for the replies B-)
Had a look at the link but it no worky on the sales, thanks anyway scotty :)

I`m willing to pay whatever is deemed as fair for the size and maturity of an L260. I personally didn`t think £35.00 for a juvi was a fair price however for an adult I wouldn`t have minded, but thought it best to post and ask, just to be sure.

I`ve managed to sort out a number of fry when they`re available which will hopefully be in a couple of months time and I`m happy with the price I`ve been quoted for them. :D :D

Glad you found some at a reasonable price :), by the sounds of it they will be very young when you get them so be careful of other greedy fish out competing for food, they really can be quite shy and retiring and dont compete to well for food with aggressive eaters. The other thing to remember is there dietary requirements and conditions are completely different to you clown plec so getting that balance is going to be vital. They also need higher temps than most fish, so mid to low 80's is required to keep them truly happy to enable them to thrive. That doesn't mean they cant be kept cooler but for there benefit the temps ive mentioned really are ideal.

Good luck when you get them and will be looking forward to pics :good:
