daves hiding place, is this adequate, or is it not a good enough hiding place? he seems to love it there tho (in between filter and rock)

Our Baryancistrus love courgette and cucumber - they also eat the 'bio film' that forms on the wood rather tan the wood itself so your wood should be fine ;)

cheers for the help, are slices of cucumber ok or do they need to be small pieces, im a bit worried at the moment becuase he doesnt seem to be eating much, hasnt eaten the plec wafers or the lettuce, are they slow eaters or what? cuz ive had it about 3 days now, and all he seems to have eaten is the lining off the wood, spilz

LOL hahaha i can see you in the glass. Nice pleco!!!

lmao, youve got my sense of humour, and thanks, he is nice isnt he, went he decides to show his face

p.s, are those light brown patches anything to worry about, because i see them a lot on plecs, although daves has gone a bit since that photo

chop in into a bit about 2" long and then cut it in half so you end up with 2 half round bits... then stick a stainless steel tea spoon through it :)

ok so ill end up with 2, 2 inch long cylinder semi circle type things, whats the teaspoon for lol

o yer, just tried it lol, i just did it the male teenager way, and stamped the air out of it till it sank lol, worked a treat

but then it'll 'blow' about ;)

they really do pull on it when eating - they prefer it to be a bit stable ;)

agh, yer, hope hes got something to hold it down with, as im not at home tonite, he may have some trouble lol

well he ate it anyway, if not hes buried it, cuz i cant find it, how often do i put some in cuz the guy in the lfs shop said every couple of days

The lighter marks on the plec are their stress markings, nothing to worry about unless they do them all the time. My shyer plecs tend to do it when they know they've been seen by a human *lol*

Lovely plec you have, nice name too ;)

gotta love the name dave lol, yer his patches have gone now, hes actually not bothered if i sit next to the tank glaring in, and i think he was getting a really good feel for the tank last nite, he finally discoverd the cave i made for him, although he still prefers the patch by the filter and the rock.

Nothing wrong with calling a pet Dave, I've got a Dave, but he's a giant african land snail.

Hmm how tragic did that make me sound....

Glad he's settled in so well :)
