just bought this as a clown plec L-162, however, just having a look at them, he hasn't got the stripes, he's got spots! His fin isn't tall.

Please tell me he's not a tank buster.

heres some pics

BTW he's still in the net as if he's gonna get to 18 foot long, i'll take him back now!

Definitely not a clown looks like it could be a gibby or an orange spot but the pics are not clear enough to give an accurate id!

It's a common bristlenose mate, looks orange in one of the photo's but im presuming that's just the picture?

thanks guys
no bristles though guys, on one hand i'm pleased, but on the other, i have spent £15 on a BN!

a couple more pics that are clearer.

for the time being he's in a bowl in the kitchen.

Defiantly a bn. How big is it? If its 3"+ i would say its a female so wont get many bristles if any.

Thats only a tiddler by the looks; can't be much more than 2" ?
Agree its most likely female

its about 2" at the min, it does make me feel better now i know its a BN! I'm at work tomorrow and wouldn't get to take it back. I'm still a bit peeved at the price tag! I might get a male to keep her company now.

thanks peeps.

At 2" it could still be a male. You will be able to tell for sure at about 3". Thats is quite a bit for a BN around here they cost £5-8 so quite a bit less.

Thats a much better picture! £15 is expensive for a BN or a clown. I paid £5 each for my two clowns!

the clowns were £15 each in Maidenheads, there was also a red BN foe £11 which looked really nice, i should have just bought one of them. I will be saying something next time i'm in there.

£11 for red BNs  I would snap up the lot evan if you end up selling them on they go for alot more than that on ebay.

really!

i know i should have bought a couple of those! I'll be going back there friday, so i'll see if theres any left.

There defiantly worth getting if you can. Maybe try getting 4-5 and then you should get a pair.

I think he will probably mean calico BN's not actually RED (super red) maidenhead usually sell calico's quite often, for calico's £11 is still a tad expensive but they are quite nicely coloured.
