Well first off I hope this is the right section lol But anyway are Black kuhli loaches the same species as regular kuhli's. The stores around here only sell the black ones but I would like to get a few of each to vary it up. Thats another question do the two different colors get along and hang out together?

nope they are different species look here under pangio but yes they get along well together. I used to have 5 striped and 3 blacks never had any problems, very peaceful and very cool fish. Watch out for you filter though they like swimming against currents near the output and they have been known to try and hide in the filter housing for filter inlets as a cave. I just put tights over the inlet and changed the outlet pipe to a homemade spray bar again with tights sealing the end.

I lost 3 Kuhli's to my filter :( so yes it happens! Be sure to get your filter covered before putting them into the tank, they are shy to start off with (as most fish are)... and a filter inlet is very accommodating to them..

I only have the striped ones now, but I've had striped and black together without problems.

Not sure about the oddball section though :p

Out of interest and totally off topic; where is the correct section to post about these (I ask becasue I am interested in getting some and I'd like to find the right section; I did a search but it just mainly pointed to the tropical discussion bit).

Discussions about loaches belong in the Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids section. I'll move this one over to there now. :D
