Kuhli Loach

Hello there,

I purchased a kuhli loach about 5 months ago. For the first couple of weeks it was fine nut after that it dissapeared. I have not seen it since and am not sure what to do.

I am debating about buying another one and if my other loach is still alive.

Any advice or help would be greatfully appreciated,

Kuhli loaches are very shy. They will come out more if they are in large groups (6+). Your Kuhli is probably just hiding.


What is the tank size and other fish in there?

from experience, i found out that if you get a kuhli, you'd probably never see it again. there's a risk that your fishes had it or it went into the filter or something

kuhli loaches are shy unless there in groups of 3+. mine bury them selfs in the gravel thay also hide around/under the filter (juwel) and can get into the smallest gaps

If you've just got one you will probably never see it, the best thing would be to buy 2-5 more khuli loaches- they become a lot more bold and active around the tank when kept in groups and so you will see them out and about more, i know this for a fact .

Kuhli loaches should be in groups of at least three, though up to six is better. There's a good chance he's just hiding, but you really never know. If you are going to get another, make sure you get several, they'll be much happier

yes they are best in groups but i only have 2 and i never see them in the day time try looking a wile after youve turnd their light out ,my guys come out to play only when lights out lol
