ok, i have a kribensis breeding pair turned sour. so im going to sell or trade on of them, which would be better in a community tank? they for sure wont be breeding so i dont have to worry about them being aggressive because of protecting babies. so are both genders equally as aggressive? or are they not aggressive when they are on their own?

I have always found either one to be a good community fish when the other sex is not present.

if they are the same, then you are welcome to it. and if oldman47 is right, then they are the same, and i can drop it off when i go into the city to pick up a plec and some gouramis.

they were, but the female decided the male wasnt right for her i guess lol. anyway she beat him up.

My female beat up my male after one batch but after they were removed I gave her another month in 'isolation' (to rest) and they paired up nicely again.

I find they lack the vibrant colouring if kept singly.

my male looks good single, but the female looks very very drab, maybe ill give it another shot in a few weeks, just need to get a small tank for the babies...

It's alwasy worth a try. I wouldn't bank on it though. Usually when they "de-pair" they don't pair back up again, as whatever was "wrong" with the fish probably hasn't changed (If that made any sense).

yeah, that makes sense, i think the male is to small for the female, maybe ill get rid of both of them, then raise my babies and use one of them in my next attempt at breeding.

You SURE about that? ;)
My female krib is all alone for now, except for one juvie sword, and she is the most vibrant krib I have ever seen. BRIGHT pink on her belly!
