Hi all :)

The kribs got moved into their new home on Friday so I got the camera out yesterday.

I had made them a cave from slate which I thought about putting a bottom on but decided I couldn't be bothered - now I wish I had! They're digging so much they could get a starring role on "Time Team!"

Anyway, onto some pictures:

Saturday morning, already you can see a small pile of sand outside

After some more digging

And even more digging!

And a video of them in the act:

Hope you like :D

I like that idea for a cave! They seemed so determined to move that sand!!

Fantastic cave, where did you get the slate from?

I got the slate from the farm next to me. It's really run down and no-ones lived in it for about a year now. One of the roofs of the barns had fallen in so there was plenty of slate to choose from! I boiled it several times before glueing it together though just in case :)
I cut it to size with the angle grinder - for a girl I think I did not too bad!
Thanks for the comments folks. No eggs but that was because I had to take everything out of the tank to sink the cave down to the bottom of the tank because I have really deep sand and they were covering everything in it! They're back in now and are both back in their cave - it's now sortof buried so that there's just a small hole at the top and it's just about on the glass at the bottom. The female has all her colour back now and every time the male comes near she sort of shimmers at him. She's a show off! :D

Thanks for the nice comments

Sounds like a good idea, might try it myself the results are great!!

As if one cave wasn't enough, they now have his and hers caves! The female has made another cave underneath the piece of slate with the java moss on it  I took some pictures but I don't have time to upload them just now because I have my maths standard grade this morning and I need to leave in 10 minutes  I'll upload them later :)

Great looking fish and such a funny video :D heh
Looks like they're really enjoying their new caves

As promised - pictures of their make-shift cave.

Before they started.

The male flaring at himself - it's not that good a pic, he's only half flaring but he's really impressive when he does it fully. He sees his reflection in the glass when the tank light's on and my bedroom light is off and starts swimming up and down flaring at himself. Silly man!

Exam went ok by the way :)

Edit: Found a video of the male flaring at himself :) it's uploading onto photobucket just now :good: It'll be on in 10 mins
