Well that's good as they are far more aggressive then keyholes and also the. Waters are wrong for them anyway ... Yes African cichlids like Malawi need harder waters but these are totally different they are west African dwarf cichlids and all west African cichlids are soft water cichlids that require acid waters ...... Where in the world did you get your relevant information from cos from what I've read from this thread all the info you were givin was completely wrong ?

If you want a colourfull dwarf cichlid for your tank try a pair of apistogramma or rams but you prob will need to make your waters softer by using almond leaves or alder cones

Hi I read up on the kribs on the internet but made 1 fatal mistake and did not read up on breeding and also in the lfs had them marked up as a green tick and great in community  I have now got 3 small keyholes and they have settled in great :good:
Briliant fish and will eventually get another 3 once my guppies have passed away as they are about a year old now , I am keeping an eye on them with the keyholes as I think they can be a bit nippy on the tails but no signs yet .

Keyholes arnt nippy atal most people keep them in with discus and other delicate fish without problems as they are the most least aggressive cichlid even when breeding but good choice on the keyholes ive just sold 2 breeding pairs and kept me final pair back for myself for more breeding in a separate tank
