I just purchased a pair of pelvicachromis pulchers for my 15 gallon breeder and thought it would be fun to make a breeding journal. I have breed kribs many times before and it seems like every time i sell my pair i find myself wanting another pair. I will just be uploading pics and videos as i go along.
Here are a few pics of the pair

And here is a video of a past pair of mine with fry

Good luck with your current batch!

As you mentioned that you have bred kribs before, can I possibly ask you a question.

My pair currently have babies. They're out of their little cave, and parents take turns watching them. Could you give me any tips to help them survive? I'm very new to this. I usually just let nature take its course.

Thanks in advance :)

Sorry for the late reply. There is not to many tips for breeding kribs im afraid. If you have a separate breeding tank for them i would just leave them be and keep up on water changes. You could also hatch some bbs for the fry. There are some cool vids on YouTube on how to make a hatchery. Hope this helped. Feel free to ask anymore questions that you have :)

Some more pics of the tank and the pair. They will probably be bringing their fry out tomorrow :hyper:

Update-
The male sadly died unexpectedly but the female and about 30fry are still doing great. Here is a short video of the fry.

They look really good! I forgot how robust and fast growing krib fry were! I just wish my wild caught apistogramma cacatuoides babies would take a leaf out of their book.

Just another update. The fry have been moved into my grow out tank. They are being fed bbs twice a day, and i also give them some crushed flake food to.

Update- The fry are growing fast. Many of them are getting their Juvenal lines. Here is a video of them eating bbs.

Ive just got a pair of super reds apparently, still waiting to see if that colour develops. They have been in my 300L around 10 days or so now and are staying together pretty well after a up and down start. Im just wondering what size your grow out tank is? As If mine were to breed I only have a 5g spare at the moment, how many do you think I coild grow out in that tank before putting them back in the 300?

And how long would you reckon before they are large enough to be rehoused in the 300? Any help appreciated :good:

Random question, but is it possible for the male to kill the female? I discovered some fry yesterday, and the female is no where to be seen. The male is looking after them 24/7 :(
