Can a kribenis cichlid be kept in a community aquarium with rummy nose tetras an 2 bolivian rams??

well i'm no expert but i have a Kribensis in a tank with an angel fish, 2 guppies and a Plecostamus, and he's fine with them :)

The answer is yes but it will depend on the size of your tank. They are fairly peaceful when compared to other cichlids but get a little territorial at breeding times. As long has you have a large enough tank to allow them to have "their patch" you should be fine.

I would suggest keeping them as a pair. They're easy to sex so you'll get a male and female. If you have one on it's own I would think it would be more likely to become aggressive through boredom and/or frustration. You'll enjoy the pair much better than one on its own anyway.

If you have a big tank and some caves, then keep a pair. They get aggressive trying to protect their babies.

I had breeding pair for a couple for months and would say you need a fair sized tank to keep them with other tetras. mine where having 30+ fry every 3 or 4 weeks and where basically locked on aggressive parent mode all the time. They will attack anything is sight doesn't have to be close either. If they see a fish in line of sight they will attack and 99% of the time the tetra would be minding its own at the other end of the tank and have a krib come charging at it. I got rid of my kribs, they were very nice but my tetra did not approve and my tank was full of fry all the time which is another reason to stay clear because you will be inundated with baby fish and as soon as kribs have more young the old fry are seen as a threat and will be killed.
