Kporteo's Fishless Cycles.....taaaake 3!

So, im adding my ammonia up to 4ppm at 9am and testing nitrite then, generally getting 0ppm or very nearly 0. At 9pm my ammonia is 0ppm and my nitrite is around 0.25ppm, is this sounding right?

As near as darn it is to swearing
I was also mithered by trace nitrite and then it just went, it came back once during qualifying week then went for good

well ive had my first nitrite 12hr reading to 0, so fingers crossed another 6 days then i can get me some fishies!!!
Looks like ive completely skipped the nitrite spike some how? Highest reading ive had is 0.25ppm.

Its very often like anon described. Just traces and traces and then finally goes to zero and gives maybe one or two little blips back and then you never see it again for the life of the biofilter unless you stock too quickly at some later point or miss out too much on your tank maintenance. WD

Hi K!

When you got your mature media how long did it take for it to drop in ammonia? Added mine yesterday at 1pm there is an ever so slight drop but not much? Loosing abit of faith but understand this can take a little while?

Awesome! Its great to see someone go through the cycle (especialy a 3rd one) and finaly get some fish! Its inspiring for those of us still half way through their first cycle

I've hopefully only got 2 weeks left on mine before I can start stocking.

Added more fish today after 2 weeks of no problems whatsoever with my tetras, 3 gorgeous little Albino Brislenose Plecs
