Hi,
Has anyone experienced a noisy koralia before. My one a koralia 4 (my 2nd one after i returned first due to same problem), is now vibrating every few minutes. Its getting really irritating.
Just wondered if any of you guys on here have experienced similar?

If i remember rightly they had a problem with this a while back and im sure there have been others affected by the same problem, my korallia 1 developed the same problem and I ended up going for the tunze nanostream wich seem a whole load better.

I had a K 4,2 & 1. I never had any probs, but I agree. If you have the means, go for TUNZE. They are the dogs danglies

How long did you have the pumps for. I have had a k3 and k2 going for about 3 weeks now and I haven't heard such much as a peep out of them.... but this is assuming I can hear them over the racket my skimmer makes... haha.

I've had a k2 for about 6 months now with no problems, you sure you cant fiddle with it to stop the vibration? What component is causing the noise?

I had this, too, on a Koralia nano.

It was vibrating from time to time over a few minutes. After about two weeks from buying new I didn't hear it anymore.

It was only vibrating and not making a noise by itself. The glass or the pump holder on it made that strange sound.

Tried loads of different things to cure noise but still no good. Pumps only been running 6 weeks and one of them had been replaced already. Today I had had enough so took them back to my LFS and got a refund. After visiting my other LFS, I now have two tunze pumps. Wish I had bought these in the first place because as soon as i plugged them in, they were working well without any noise. Bliss

maybe the chord banging on the glass?

No, it was a particular frequency that seemed to come from the impeller. That frequency changed slightly, so it sounded like a tone going up and down.

But, I got also four Maxi-Jet pumps that are all cheaper than the Koralia and never made any sound. Only, they have suction caps instead of a magentic holder.

mod those maxis to get some propeller flow and about 5x more water movement with pulling the same amount of electricity.
